The thing I find wrong is that just by the old lady saying "There's a person in the bathroom spying on little girls" wasn't enough to get the peeping Tom kicked out instead of the old lady. They're so gung-ho about protecting the chosen identities of trans-people that they forget that the person's gender doesn't matter, because if they are spying on children in the bathroom that should be a red flag no matter what their biological sex or gender identity is.

When my son was no longer young enough to go to the women's bathroom with me, I'd let him go to the men's room, but I stood in the doorway propping the door open with my foot. Many men gave me a strange look until I explained, I'm protecting my son from any possible predators. Without exception, they did not mind then. I never violated their right to privacy as I was not looking into the bathroom, just keeping the door open for him to hollar to mom if need be.
