My husband is almost 4 years into doing Kidney Dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours. He has no kidneys now. He also has Stage 3 Dementia. Been married over 50 years. We never had kids and no family or friends living close to help out. So it's just me. My health has suffered, but I am thankful he is still with me. One day at a time...

I’m so Thankful for dementia caregivers. My Grandmother currently has dementia and is in memory care, she’s only 74. I’m pretty young and it’s hard for me to see her go through all of this, there are times when she’s great and times when she’s not so great. But I’ll forever remember all the memories we made when she didn’t have dementia. I love going to visit her, and I’m so glad she still remembers me. I’ve always been so close to her.❤

Thank you for posting this. It is very true!❤️‍🩹 Finding the moments of joy are also so different now. Recently I found joy sharing cherry tomatoes with my dad I grew in my garden this summer. There were countless times I wanted to call & talk to him about gardening because that was a passion of his. But, seeing the smile on his face as he ate the tomatoes and I talked to him about my gardening season, even though he cannot verbally respond, I know we connected by his smile & calmness
