How is the Janome HD9 going with Cork? I see you do not have a walking foot but the fabric seems to glide well. Will a straight stitch machine do cork without a walking foot please?

Hi Jo. What a brilliant idea, instant free arm sewing.
I have a question for you Jo please. I have noticed when sewing in zippers on my HD9 that when I sew in the zip with a 2.3 stitch length the stitches are perfect, top and bottom. However, when I then do the top stitching at 3.5 the under stitching looks loser than the top. I just cannot fathom why this is happening. Any ideas Jo on how to correct this would be greatly appreciated ๐. Thank yo
