Outside of building tutorials, the only other minecraft videos I watch is hermitcraft. Those videos seems like the only thing similar enough to older minecraft content.

That feels extremely reductive, 2013 Minecraft also had horrid content (and nostalgia is also clearly talking here), and 2024 Minecraft also has incredible content, with Hermicraft, MCC, Content SMP, etc. I could do the exact opposite of this video and "prove" 2013 was awful and today is perfect

I'm a youtuber and I grew up inspired by youtubers such as Stampy and Dan. When I make videos now I keep mostly to the old ways. I don't like following every single trend. I wanna keep to the story or keep focus on something actually entertaining.
I know not every youtuber is like what we see now with Minecraft stuff and we had bad stuff back then still but there is a clear difference in game, stories, and videos from then and now. (even if this short was a joke, it's too true, lol.)

Quite true minecraft kids content is utter garbage like sometimes I walk downstairs to see my little brother watching the weirdest stuff so why can't we just go back to stamp lol

To anyone who hasn't heard of him, I'd suggest LowResBones. He's been playing vanilla with a texture pack similar to the Minecraft Trailer textures. His style is refreshing and reminiscent of the early days content.

Really depends where you look.. yes things have changed but there is great Minecraft content out there. There's always been brain rot content but I do think the increased ambition and better editing nowadays is a good thing. I mean I adore Etho, and he has been very consistent but he has still upped his editing and ambition in his videos too. Also the new Minecraft content creator sphere has some very exciting stuff going on.
