I can remember in the early 70's going to the co-op toy department and choosing which annual we wanted father Christmas to bring us. Happy days 😊

Every Christmas needed an annual! My cousins used to get ‘The Broons’ or ‘Our Wullie’ (printed in alternate years) and I always wanted one but never did.
When I was very young, I received a Rupert annual every year.

Yes...I was given a few Annuals over the years: “Blue Peter” “Camberwick Green” “Rupert Bear.” The earliest one I remember receiving was”Pogles Wood.” Remember that Children’s TV 📺 Series?! I remember having the “LOOK IN” comic

I certainly remember the Look-In annuals, and that Worzel Gummidge annual looks familiar.
We mainly would have the comic annuals for Christmas, my brother would have The Beano annual and I would have The Topper annual. Quite often after Christmas when the annuals went on sale my granny would buy some other ones like The Dandy or Whizzer And Chips so we would have something to read when we visited her.
I always remember that the annuals were about twice as thick, or more, than they are now.

I used to read my annuals over and over but I never got them for Christmas as Mum thought them overpriced. I had to wait for the January sales. I loved Bunty best. I remember finding a huge bundle of Mandy comics at a jumble sale for 10 pence , I was in heaven! 😹

Yes stu I worked at W H Smith wholesale back in the day and used to handle them annuals among other things ie newspapers and magazines. Life was so much simpler. 👍
