Secret Rings has so many cool levels like Sand Oasis, Night Palace and Skeleton dome.
The only answer though is Evil Foundry just to hear WHO’s GONNA ROCK THE PLACE

Interesting enough, Sonic himself mentions Secret Rings in the cutscene after rescuing Tails where he says, "No stranger than rescuing genies from magic books and saving aliens from an interstellar amusement park."

I guess they cut it out since they didn't fit with the 3 stage era format. But this is once again a reason why Generations should've got DLC stages. It's the same point that's been harped for years now. And while I'm glad we got Shadow Generations, WAY better than any DLC stage we could have got, there's still a part of me hurt that at the time, the best they could do was Casino Night Pinball.
I mean for God's sake, SHADOW Generations is getting DLC stages. And that game hasn't even been released.

It's worth noting Colors was developed from a scrapped Wii port of Generations, so maybe before they decided to make Colors and put it into Generations they would have put a stage or two from the storybook games in it? Would be cool

Curious why we never got stages based on the storybook games, they could’ve been included plus CD; my answers for the stages would’ve been Quartz Quadrant, Night Palace (Stage is too pretty to not, plus it’s basically the main stage from that game), and Camelot Castle, all 3 would’ve been fantastic additions and really have this game come full circle

I see the secret rings levels working more than black knight's, since how mechanically use the sword much more than just a weapon in some levels

There's more surrounding this, too. One of Sonic Generations' trailers showing a bunch of older Sonic games included secret rings and black knight, and the storybook games are also referenced in the game itself.
