Here are some quick drawing warm ups!

1️⃣ Trace the Ruler - Draw a line and draw over it
2️⃣ Connect the Dots - Place two points and connect them
3️⃣ Light, Medium and Dark Lines - You get it!
4️⃣ Page Skating- Make random shapes. The lines don't have to connect completely. Use tapered lines and build up the impression of one continuous line.

Remember the key is consistency! These aren't meant to be done just once. Don’t be afraid to fill up a lot of paper when you do these before your drawing sessions

I liked the posting of tips like this in the community tab in writing and pictures, then again as a Short! It really helps with the learning process

I'm terrible for remembering to warm up and just get straight back into wherever I left off. I've got a 6-month-old so only get a few spare breaks to chill to art so just want to drive back in

When i was a kid i used to hold small sticks or pens and pretend like i was drawing in the air, would that count as muscle memory for drawing? Just a small thing i remembered and is curious about 💀

Preschool teachers: here kids, drawing activities (connect the dots, coloring books, scenarios, etc.)
What is an artist doing here?
