i feel too many series, especially single cour ones, spend too much time with "one-off" episodes instead of getting directly to the overarching plot, and those episodes are usually not that interesting.

Honestly, when I first watched the trailer for this show, I knew that it was gonna be a "cute girls fight with big swords" kind of show with not much else to it. It's really disappointing to see a show with such a cool visual identity become just another anime.

I know, right? At least it had one really good episode. Better than most seasonal anime, I guess? Still, I had to drop it, couldn't get through episode 4 without skipping here and there.

Honestly, I just really enjoy anime series that unapologetically take place in the US. I am wondering where it's going, though. Like... the MCs have a goal to get to New York and try to fix Cossette, but I wonder what the implied "bigger story" that's clearly being hinted at is. Personally, I've been enjoying this one a fair bit.
