My grandma keeps falling for fake online boyfriends who are rich, famous, and 30 years younger than her, acting like they just want to send her money but it's always some convoluted way. Or they want her to buy their plane ticket to visit her. She has went through several dudes and refuses to listen to common sense, her sons, her FAVORITE child EVER her granddaughter (ME) and is always surprised when it's a scam. You can't make this stuff up!!! My dad even said "We just need to take her phone from her, she shouldn't have access to the internet" to which I couldn't even come up with any rebuttle. She's a grown woman but she cannot be responsible with money at all.

I once was called and told I was in jail amd needed bail money. Oh it was amazing to string them along.

Someone called one of my cousins and told them that my dad was in jail in Mexico, so instead of calling my brother to confirm, they fell for it and sent money. My dad didn't think it was very funny, but I thought it was hilarious.

Yeah we deal with these calls all the time. They usually have Indian accents but the caller ID keeps changing around and so does where they say they’re calling from. I’ve taken to fucking with them whenever I get take the call (last time I pretended to be a thirsty femme and the guy hung up as soon as I called him “daddy” 😂)
Unfortunately my grandma has dementia and keeps forgetting to not answer the phone so we’ve caught her giving information over the phone and even trying to mail a check for $200 to California (she didn’t even remember who or what for
