🎨 My First Comic Strip: A Step-by-Step Breakdown 🎉
For the longest time, I’ve wanted to make little comic strips. You know, taking those random doodles that sit forgotten on my hard drive and turning them into something more. And guess what? I finally did it! 🙌
This comic features me—both my current 32-year-old self and a 10-year-old version of me. (Yes, it was a journey to settle on a style, and I might have gone a little overboard exploring different ones. 😅)
Here’s the process I followed:
1️⃣ Rough Sketch: The “is this even a thing?” stage. Just messy lines and vague shapes.
2️⃣ Detailed Sketch: Slowly turning blobs into characters and refining details.
3️⃣ Inking: Cleaned up lines for that polished look.
4️⃣ Coloring: I went for a watercolor-inspired vibe—partly because I love the look, partly because I was testing a new brush pack.
5️⃣ Adding Text: Dialogue bubbles to bring it all together.
And voilà! My first-ever comic strip was born. 🥳 The process was chaotic, fun, and a lot of “maybe I should just scrap this,” but I’m so glad I stuck with it.
If you’re thinking of making your own comic strip, I hope this inspires or helps in some way. Now, go turn those random sketches into something awesome!
