The High Holidays shouldn’t just remain “high” and they shouldn’t just remain “holy.” I explain based on a fascinating teaching about the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) in the Bais HaMikdash (Holy Temple.)

As a "follower of Jesus Christ" (NOT the highly problematic word "Christian")....I hang on every word of the good Rabbe.

And why not? He and his people gave us Torah--aka the bulk of Thr Bible. No quarrel, no quibble, no accusation, no condescension, zero "antiJew."

He/they speak with more accuracy and authority about "The Old Testament" than all the tea in China. Ya'll get my cheesy metaphore, I trust.

Thank you, Jews.
❤❤❤

In the old days, people would work in their fields or on their farm to support their families. In the industrial revolution, people would work in factories to support themselves and their families. In America, someone had the idea that work is an end to itself. You work to fulfill and develop yourself and make something of yourself. Doesn't matter about the family; that's a side point. So then women said we want the same thing, we want to work outside the home and give us the same opportunities. Nothing wrong with women getting the same opportunities and pay. But the family has been relegated to such a low point that even though the money goes to the family, that is not considered as lofty a goal as the personal development. And so we have in this video a man who was so high, so holy, that he was the only one who could do the service in the Temple, and the holiday is not considered complete until he goes home to his family. Another instance of how Judaism shows the world what is really important.

The moral of the story is, we all need Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Nobody could really into the holy of holies, except Jesus Christ that died for us, since we conciliated us with God again, repent and accept the Messiah.
