Notre Dame has plenty of money! They need to figure out their issue with “up front/pay for play”. This isn’t necessarily “better”. I get where they come from. It does feel “dirty” and even from a true NIL “angle”, a typical incoming freshman has very little NIL value. So, pay (in theory but not what’s been practiced.) should be based on production or what you “earn”. That said, this is the landscape that Saban talked about at SEC media day a couple seasons ago when he basically said, “Are you sure this the road you want to go down?”
