It’s called consumption. It’s called living above your means. It’s called being irresponsible. Can we stop making up these ridiculous terms to make people feel better about their poor financial decisions. I’ve made dumb financial decisions. I didn’t call it Spaving. It was just stupid to spend what I didn’t have trying to get more stuff I didn’t need. Ain’t no SPAVING. You spend more over time you end up broke.

Money out is money out. Americans will literally make up anything in order to justify their need for instant gratification. Spaving has to be the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard. You either spend money or you save and invest it. Stop complicating it. Just because something is on sale doesn’t mean you should or need to buy it. Half the stuff we buy, we really do not need. Companies offering “deals” (BOGOF) (rewards points etc.) based on buying stuff you don’t need, is the point. They make money, while consumers keep buying and SPENDING. Oh sorry, SPAVING. 😭😭😭😭😭

I ALWAYS use a calculator when shopping. That way I can accurately calculate exact $ per ounce, or gram, or pound, or kilo, or quart, or liter, or item, or serving, or use.
Things such as paper items (towels, toilet paper, printer paper, etc) don’t ’spoil’ so bulk is almost always cheaper.
Same with plastic items… sponges for instance.
Food is strictly rationed, experation dates are critical, frozen or fresh, etc.
Learn to THINK when spending your hard-earned money.
And yes, occasionally I spend $$ to save ‘time’. I only get 24 hours a day, no amount of $$ can buy me more ‘time’.
Time to spend with family is the best way to spend my $$.

Rule of thumb, if the the stores are making an effort to DRAW YOUR ATTENTION to a "deal", it's a deal that BENEFITS THEM.
If there is an UNUSUAL discount like something on clearance or liquidation, that's where you truly get good deals as a buyer. Except my local Ashley Furniture Home store which was "going out of business!" FOR SEVERAL YEARS, so that was a lie. 🙄🙄
