Usually the toxicity is generational and so it's not one member of the family, it's multiple people. Also ignoring doesn't work sometimes because they keep repeating the behaviour to get a reaction out of you. Also you cannot be strong 24 hours because you have your own issues and emotions to deal with. That's why people stay away and love from far. Impacts are usually more than we are ready to take on.
