With more publicity rolling in, the platform was growing on the daily, Australian public figures were getting behind the movement and it was on the external looking like a continual trajectory of growth.
Which I was very grateful for.
It was making people talk, it was making people see images of some of their favourite celebrities sharing their dark times and revealing their vulnerability.
It was truly gaining some amazing legs so to speak and really helping people.
What people didn’t see was how much work it was taking to get everything done behind the scenes.
Here I was on the daily, waking at 4am to go to the gym, listening to podcasts in ways to learn how to network, how to do organic marketing ( I didn’t have the cash to splash on sponsored advertising) how to learn public relations to keep spreading the message and how to build communities. I’d then get on the work site at 6am and be there until 6pm. Get home, dinner and a little time with my family and then they would all go to bed and all I was learning from the podcasts, I was up until maybe midnight daily implementing it all.
Oh boy, yes it can be physically draining, emotionally draining running on little sleep.
But I always remember people asking, how do you do it, Glenn?
Quite frankly, I didn’t feel any of it, I loved what I was learning, implementing and the results it was producing in getting the message out to get people speaking up if they were struggling knowing that they weren’t alone.
( granted, I didn’t always enjoy being stood on a worksite 12 hours a day 🤪 )
As the campaign continued featuring on networks, then radio and in publications, the sudden barrage of questions came….
Is it a charity?
What are you going to do with it?
I remember one network host asking me now that these images are out, what next?
Are you doing a new campaign, Glenn?
Erm, it was like she had ended it before it had even got started. 🤔
