I have 4 kids but only my youngest is special needs. She has a microdeletion. She's 3 and cant talk at all. She grunts and hums. But she has some non verbal communication. She cant walk alone yet either. Shes the most precious little thing , shes actually kind of clever and shes funny. She enjoys her own company quite a bit but also loves someone interacting with her ❤

I had some skill loss as an adult when burnout caught up to me at around 19 or 20, it a few years to regain close to the the verbal aptitude and executive function I'd had, I'm 26 though and my receptive language and reading still struggle

I do remember and now she’s definitely progressed. Would love a video with your speechie or tips on what you guys did for her to progress

Its wild how fast time goes. I remember watching your content when Penelope was a baby, while raising my niece who is just a little bit older (she's 5) who also has autism and showed signs of it really young and was having feeding issues. Feels like five minutes ago 😂

"staring episodes" + regression may = a different/additional neurological disorder such as epilepsy. I hope not.

I wish people would talk about regression in autistic kids more. My son was talking at 18 months, then had his regression and lost all of his speech. He's 7 and still hasn't gained it back yet.

Thanks for sharing that, it helps me as a mom to my autistic son who is 3. He has some scripting and some functional language. I have always wondered how I can help him to get more and more functional language and less echolalia & scripting.

Girl, I know you have to be some kind of tired Mama. My question is: How do you do your eye makeup so you look so awake? Your eyes are so beautiful and so non tired looking ❤

My son lost all of his advancements every time he got his immunizations.
Finally had to pick
and choose and space out his shots.

What is echolalia? My son hasn’t been diagnosed but I feel he may have a form of autism.. He was born with a cleft palate and Pierre Robin(shortened jaw) and has struggled with speech his whole life. He will be 9 next month. He has been in speech since he was 3 months old. He was also on a feeding tube starting at 8days old until he was about 4 and a half.

Have you ever considered American Sign Language? I worked with an autistic student & it helped immensely. (They were 1st grade, not sure if that makes a difference or not…) Just a suggestion.

Leon was two and a half too and he's still barely talks he's five now and I'm also severe but being in an abusive situation and being forced to talk and forced to not stem I've also lost the ability to mask I am 30 I'm forced to work and had another major regression at 30 here I am 30 years old for us to work had to cut back to two shifts can't afford to take cut back to two shifts need to cut back to one shift and I'm going nonverbal at work and having to stem entirely through my cashier shifts why because I don't have a supportive mother or father or Aunt or anything else I am alone in the universe with two cats who rely on me for their survival
