Thank you Father for your work. I am an inquirer into Orthodoxy and I am struggling between Chalcedonian and non-Chalcedonian churches. Could you help me figure out by what criteria the council of Chalcedon should be accepted, but not Ephesus II? I understand the concept of Consensus Patrum, but after investigating on the details of those two councils, I see good arguments from both sides... I have also studied the arguments for the miaphysite position vs the Chalcedonian one, but I don't want to pick one based on what makes sense to me (to avoid a "protestant-like" approach), but rather understand what should be the truth according to the Church, backed up by criteria for it... Thanks in advance!

What is the Orthodox view on the Salvation Army? I was bred a Baptist, been in and out of pentecostal, drug addiction, 2nd marriage... about 4 years ago I felt led to Salvos which happened to have a drug rehab programme (you & I both know it's Christ who restores), so just before C19 hit I started to attend. Locking horns with the Reformed I started to research them, long story short, it's led me to history and history has led me in a circle with a really weird drawing to Orthodoxy. God makes promises to those who seek Him out, is this part of it or am I just brain damaged? I just want to ask someone with fresh eyes, everyone is claiming truth, even God's word is tainted by man's doctrines. I apologise for my troubledness, the Lord knows my search for truth is genuine, and I live in Australia, person to person resource is limited.

What about the second council of Lyon. It was held with the consensus of the east and west and was attended by Greek bishops. The Greek delegates accepted the Filioque and agreed to mend the schism. But the clergy back in the east denied the perfectly legitimate ecumenical council (similarly to what the orientals and assyrians did).

Having read about the first councils, it strikes me how politics seemed to be play a part in them - especially with Constantine who outlawed some clergy because he wanted the council to reach consensus. How can they be infalible when such worldly power is allowed to interfere? Such questions I battle with

Psalms chapter one in the king james bible. This is an indictment on the very idea of infallibility. And councils above the body of christ. This doctrine is not the doctrine of our Lord. But it is the attempt of the Son of perdition, who wishes to sit above all that is worshipped. 2nd thes: chapter 2. KJV.
