The house next to mine is a rental. I've lived in my house for over 20 years. Last summer I was driving home from work. It was early morning as I work graveyards at an ER. You have to make several weird turns to get to my street.
Apparently, I was driving behind the new renter/neighbor and "followed" her home. A high-strung single mom. She whipped her car to the curb and came to an abrupt stop right in front of my driveway. I stopped just behind her as I was about to pull into my driveway. I waited several seconds and then honked at her. Little did I know she was calling the police, the Army, the Airforce, the National Guard, and the French Foreign Legion.
She got out of her car on the phone, screaming at me to leave that this was her house. I tried to communicate, but she was in nuclear Karen mode, and there was no talking her down. The neighbors all came out in their PJs to the commotion. My neighbor, on the other side, who has also lived here for about 20 years, came over to my car to ask what was going on. She started freaking out on him, too, yelling at him to go away.
By the time the police arrived, half the neighborhood was gathered around. She was sitting in her car having a complete breakdown. Screaming and yelling and cussing like a sailor. The cops asked a few questions. I showed them my driver's license with my address, which, of course, was the house whose driveway she was blocking. She even argued with the cop that this was HER house!!! The cop pointed at the numbers on my porch, which said *16, and told her she lived at *14. Our houses don't look the same. It's not even the same color. Reality finally dawned on her. She just started screaming, "Oh, God, Oh God!!!" Nearly hit my car and the police cruiser making a mad dash for her driveway. The cops walked to her car, now in her driveway, and had another long talk with her. She moved out 3 days later. I hope she finds peace. There were some wild bats loose in that belfry.

Cops need to start their investigation with the source of the report and deal with the fools .
