People are saying all types of stuff in the comment section but let's be honest, unless you are into astronomy it's fairly unlikely that you hear about astronomy experts at all. One or two is probably the upper limit.

Well they don't seem to worried about sunspots today. From what I understand if a solar flare similar to one that occurred in the 1800s happened today the power grid would fry and no protections have been put in place to prevent it.
