I like this. In Stargate the humans liked to open with their most effective and powerful tactics first such as nuke beaming. They would work backwards to less advance/effective technology once the enemy had demonstrated effective countermeasures.

I would imagine they have counter measures against this like magnetic fields in special areas or enemies would just get the shields down the beam the warp core or computer etc from the ship.

Shields down and phasers had no effect ? The decouple matter on contact so this is way out of balance .

now starfleet vessels could easily beam a quantum torpedo over. heck i better certain starfleet officers would beam over a bunch of photon grenades onto the bridge.

Of course. While your shields are down for transpsort. The many photons torpedoes from ESD would have crushed you. Which this ESD seems to have few of. Not to mention the many dozons of Phasers it is supposed to have.

Starbases are too underpowered. It should be impossible, even with the shields down.

As I've mentioned in a few comments to others, that is not the actual Starbase 1 from Sol. It is one of the other Fed Starbases the game has, which happen to have a similar shape to Starbase 1 (Earth Space Dock). Starbase 1 on a stock KM install has a few differences that you may like @RetroBadgerGaming, albeit on my side those battles tend to be... unpredictable. And if a ship under the Fed Ships menu was bugged in any way (f.ex. the Olympic Noble and Olympic Pasteur which had wrong HP names, or the PAH Exeter which had a wrong Custom dTechs link) one of the gimmicks of Starbase 1 could have issues.

Considering the Earth Space Dock had sufficient shields and firepower to hold off a huge fleet of Starfleet ships, destroying and damaging many, the fire the SG shop is receiving is a joke.
