Rey being a Mary sue doesn’t happen until the last Jedi, when they’ve cut Finn down to almost a mere recurring guest character with no significance. The force awakens gave the sequels so much potential to be good, but Disney fucked it up

Except Rey already knew about the Force prior to the movie. She'd heard about the legends of Han, Luke and Leia. The Force is a religion. The more you believe in it, the better you are at it, and Rey was more of a believer than Luke was.

The difference between Luke and Rey is that Rey had already been developing her melee skills, as is obvious from the film, and presumably passively practicing using the force. I have no doubt Luke passively used the force too, but let's face it, he too learned to use the force properly in no time at all, just on the flight to Alderaan.
I find it disappointing that this channel started as a Star Wars fan channel and devolved into a hate channel so quickly 🙁 Stuck it out for a long time as other opinions are of course valid on such subjective matters but realise now that my views are too different to the channel hosts. Best of luck though
