This month on Covering The Doors, check out Creed performing “Riders On The Storm” at Woodstock ‘99 with the one and only Robby Krieger.

Around the time, Creed had been covering “Riders On The Storm” for about a month. At the festival, they also played “Roadhouse Blues” followed by “What’s This Life For” by Robby.

In an interview before they went on stage, Robby joked around and called him self “Robby Creeder.”

The Doors channel is the official YouTube home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.

With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.

The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger – a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite lik

You just can't replicate the power/menace/poetry of Jim's voice...this guy is just screaming...

Is it me? Or are Jim Morrison's vocals kind of 1 of a kind, no one can sing or scream like him, I'm 69, heard everyone trying to cover JDM and they look foolish such as this guy, Billy Idol, and especially Mylie Cyrus.

This isn't utter cacophony. Total noise. I can't believe robbie actually consented to do this. It's not heavy metal guys! I can't believe how many people are in the audience. robbie is totally drowned out and there are no keyboards. Maybe I'm old school and these guys are just stretching the bounds of the music but I don't think so. This gets a (-10)!

Not bad. 🫡
As long as Robbie is guitarist and/or John is drumming, then the Doors are still open?

Though as I make this comment I am now wondering what it could have been like if Iggy Pop had fillled in for Jim.

But "Mr Creed's" voice is NOT doing "Riders On The Storm" any DISservice....Sometimes someone elses interpretation of someone elses music can be necessary or even better, and as long as Robbie Krieger approves, then how can I NOT approve as well?🙂

But living up to the original Doors' MYTHOLOGY is something I do NOT think can be done no matter how good or pleasant sounding the reintrepreted music of theirs might be
