Well mirrors mode only flips the camera to make everything look mirrored including the L on Luigi’s hat

Now that you mention it, I remember buying the Mario Kart Double Dash game more than a decade ago and I also realized it the L on Luigi’s hat was backwards and thought it was just Mirror Mode. Then I realized it wasn’t the case because the DK logo was not backwards. I also thought that Mirror Mode was introduced in Mario Kart 64.

People thought it's indicating the mirror mode. But this is not the case, when you look closely, you see Mario's letter is written the correct way!

Another printing mistake on a video game box was on the Sonic and Knuckles box. The front cover was fine, but when you looked at the side of the box it spelled "Knuckles" as "Knuckles"!
