Woah this is good to know!
I knew that most cats would typically get the majority of their hydration from their food,
but I didn’t know they were enzyme deficient compared to some other domesticated animals.

My cats have access to super premium dry food 24/7, but get fed barf 3 times a day. They also have water fountains throughout the house. They choose when they want to eat their dry food, on some days, one of them prefers to eat just the dry food and will refuse to eat anything else. They both also hate any kind of fish and would rather starve then even go near the bowls if they smell fish in them, so our vet gave us some supplements since they lack certain things they should be getting from fish.
