I am looking forward to them, but I had a theory that I hope is not true. What if the Maria and Gerald that got brought to the white space are versions of them that haven’t met shadow yet?

Maybe shadow tells Gerald about the events that passed like the assault on the space colony ark and the death of Maria, and Gerald becomes sour about it and kinda falls into evil territories, trying to prevent Maria's death.
