The Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware once served as the residence of the Commander of the British forces in Hong Kong dating back about two centuries ago. With the design resembling the Greek Revival style, it has been adapted to Hong Kong's subtropical climate with wide verandas, lofty ceilings, and wooden blinds.
The museum now showcases tea utensils, Chinese ceramics, and seals from the Tang Dynasty to the present. Strolling through the exhibition "The Art of Living: Stationery and Tea Accessories of the Chinese Literati”, one can admire ancient Chinese stationery, accessories and tea ware crafted from bamboo, jade, inkstone, as well as zisha (purple clay). You may conclude your visit at the K. S. Lo Gallery, where a pot of aged Pu-er tea awaits in the teahouse, blending centuries-old stories in the cups.
Join us at the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware in Hong Kong Park for a journey back in time. Let’s dive into the world of ancient elegance and discover the grace of past lifestyles in every teacup and artifact.
