Honestly I think about this a lot and I also think about how we look at an object and we do the same thing.
Also something I thought of after I already sent this. During an early meditation on an object a coin to be specific I closed my eyes and I could still see the room in a purple spectrum of colors. Freaked me out at the time but also fascinated me.

What will really cook your noodle is, both the jacket AND the dog were there....until you looked.

We see our brain's interpretation of the world, and not the world as it objectively is. To see the world as it is without additional thoughts such as - that is good, that is bad, etc adding a veil over reality , is probably only possible when one is enlightened. And even then there are properly still thoughts, but you don't take them as facts and identify with them, create an I or self from it. But am not enlightened, so of course it's just a guess. Basically, you cannot know what it is like to be enlightened until you are enlightened. But this video definitely inspires to practice more, meditate more 😀🙏

The funny thing is, someone could replace every item in the living room between moments of consciousness awareness while watching the super bowl and the average person probably wouldn't notice.
Similar experiments have been done and have shown that this is true.
Conscious awareness is far more limited and sporadic than we would like to admit. It upsets our illusion of Self.

For me, the notion of life experienced as an illusion is misleading. I prefer‘interpretation’; we interpret life from our conditioned frame of reference ( bio psycho socio spiritual), a self schema or matrix. This enables a practical adaptation to our context, which is useful. Our interpretation can be more or less accurate to context. Problems arise when we view our interpretation as ‘reality’ itself.
Fortunately we humans have a capacity for reflective thinking ( self awareness) which enables us to adjust our interpretations. When we incorporate reflective thinking ( meditation/contemplation) into our self schema we are able to progress towards’suchness’…being as it truly is.

This is a good description of the conceptual process. The brain is the "great organizer" of disorganized (or much less organized) data.
There are many ways of describing this from both Eastern and Western traditions but they all have certain strong similarities but one of the main "insights" is that we to one extent or another CREATE our experiences (our "external" world) out of what is otherwise "potential" (data/energy).
In fact, we also seem to create the very brain that organizes the potential.
I hesitate to say it too loudly but this all makes sense 😂

This very much resonates with my experiences with seeing the body and room that becomes visible when blindfolded when doing yoga. But it goes beyond that, unexpected things also appear, usually good stuff.
