They weren’t just amazing athletes - they were so kind to talk to, supported each other through the whole show, & even encouraged me with my goals.
I wish I had them to look up to years ago.
I’ve often felt awkward/out of place like I’m not small enough, dainty enough, and I don’t know how to do a good smokey eye… but I’ve never felt so comfortable to be myself than I did while watching them compete.
Now I’m kicking myself for the times I’ve been embarrassed that my neck veins pop out when I’m lifting heavy. (My chat with @swampy_swamps was life changing & straight up eliminated my insecurity!)
This was the first year the women were showcased alongside the men & I’m so grateful to have been there to watch.
