That's because I don't like tests. They not only test one's grammar or vocabulary, they also test people's way of reasoning.

To be honest with you the second student showed a range of advanced vocabulary to pass the test. In real life, we donโt tend to use complex language to demonstrate ourselves that we master our own native language.
The first student might know advanced vocabulary, but he didnโt feel comfortable talking to an examiner about what he enjoyed in his free time.
