This Japanese beef curry is so easy to make once you bought the ready-made curry mix that comes in blocks. The beauty is that you don't need to mix all different kinds of spice powders.

This Japanese curry recipe is so popular in Japan and is always served with steamed rice.

The total preparation and cooking time is about 30 minutes.

📌Ingredients for 6 servings:
❣️450g of meat (beef, chicken or lamb), but please use the tender parts if you use beef, I used sirloin steak today.
❣️3 medium size onions
❣️4 carrots
❣️2 big potatoes
❣️About 700ml hot water
❣️2 tablespoons of sake (optional)
❣️Half teaspoon of salt (optional if you prefer a light taste)
❣️110g curry blocks (half of the pack)
❣️4 table spoons of olive oil

📌Preparations:
• Cut the meat, potatoes, carrots, and onions in cubes (about 3cm size)
• Heap up a big pot or large sauce pan with medium heat, add the oil, fry the onions for 2 minutes first, then add the meat, fry for another 2 minutes, add the sake and fry for another minutes.
• Add the carrots, fry for a minute, then add the hot water. Cover the lid, lower the heat, and cook for 10 minutes.
• Add the potatoes, stir a bit then cover the lid. Cook for another 10 minutes.
• Cut the curry blocks into smaller pieces, add into the pot. Stir and mix well, then cover the lid, and simmer at low heat for another 5 minutes.
• Turn off the heat, then add the salt if it is not too salty enough for you. Scoop out and serve with steamed rice.
