What does mario mean to me? To me, Mario is someone I strive to be, not the daring dashing hero type, but someone who, no matter how rough or how many fireballs get thrown his way, he keeps going with a genuine smile and a can do attitude. He's always been a someone to look up to in that regard.

Mario means everything to me. Life is almost like a platformer adventure. So many areas, obstacles, and paths (secrets). Mario reminds me that it’s not the destination, it’s the journey.

I owe it all to my dad, without him, my love for Mario would never exist. Mario has stuck with me for my entire life and I will never forget how much joy the games gave me. I will love Mario forever

Mario is the one who introduced me to the world of video games. My parents bought a Wii and Mario kart Wii with it, and that was when I was three. Now, almost fourteen years later, I have those memories of me running downstairs on a Saturday morning, turning on my Wii, and sitting down with my dad to play some Mario Kart.

Mario, thank you for being such a big part of my childhood, and for being there whenever I needed a fun time. Happy Mario Day, Choctopus!!

Mario is one of those things that, despite any interest I have currently, I can always turn back to and smile. Mario's like an anchor sometimes. Whenever I'm bored or upset, I pretend to have a conversation with my Mario plush. Mario's almost like a friend to me, in a way. A friend that, no matter what sort of things happen, we always end up together again & having some good fun. He's helped me in more ways than one, despite being a fictional character.

Mario has always been that one happy smiling face for me. I know it im ever in a low point I can flick on any of his games and always feel better - just stable happiness

Mario for me is a reminder of why I love fantastical settings, great movement options, and creative ideas. He’s so simple, yet so endearing whether he is platforming or engaging in other spin offs. Mario also brings people together and reminds us that having fun is not exclusive to kids.

Mario is like a dad to me. I feel like my dad hates me so I play Mario when I'm sad. He is someone I can feel comfortable around. Thank you Mario. And thank you Nintendo

I honestly don't know where I would be without Mario. He is a part of my childhood too. He was there when I had my down days. His games have always put a smile on my face. It's crazy to me that we turned this day to a full blown holiday.

Mario is my main man, the guy that even when my world seems lonely, I got to hang out with him in his adventures. Even as I grew older, he never left, always being that guy that would hang over my shoulder, and tell me that I'm doing a good job, and to keep up the good work...

To me, Mario is someone I grew up with, basically a friend never left aside me. Mario was part of my childhood and I am grateful to grow up with the Mario games.

Mario has always been one of my favorite characters, and I’ve been such a huge fan of all of the things he stars in. I knew that Mario was a well developed character by my birth, so it makes him feel like a role model. He’s the top of the tower in terms of video games, and everyone wants to be a household name like he is. The games always are such a treat, and are something to look forward to, positive that I’d get a good experience out of them. I guess, to me, Mario has been someone who shines above all else, and always has my back when I want to have a good time.

Super Mario means more to me than anyone could ever imagine. Mario was always there for my darkest times. Whether we were stomping on Koopas, drifting on Luigi Raceway or making everyone angry at one of his parties... Mario has always been there. I've loved Mario for as long as I can remember... And he was the one who got me into video gaming. Video Games are something I cherish more than anything to be honest. And Mario is the one who started it all

Mario has always been a huge part of my life. Mario was one of the first videogames I ever played on my own and I've always loved his world, the characters, the music and the story. I love getting entangled in all things Super Mario, and the series has always been a huge comfort to me. It makes me so happy to see where the series has gone from it's beginning and I love it!

Totally agree with you. It’s been part of my life since I was 3 and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

Mario is a representation of you in this alternate world that you can go to anytime through his body, he has really doesn't have a specific personality, and is just a nice person. Because he's like the average guy, that just leaves you to live his life and fill in the blank spaces in him. He's not specific, not too extreme, not too over the top, he's just alternate you.

Mario just sorta defines the type of life I want
Simple, nothing outlandish but would never fail to put a smile on my face

Mario has always been like friend to me. As time goes on he’s like a really old friend who no matter what, just never leaves. (In a good way) I’ve been playing Mario as long as I possibly could. I had many Mario themed birthday parties, countless Mario tshirts and little action figures (no they were not “toys”), but most of all, countless great memories. I can’t wait to continue this journey.

For me, Mario is that one childhood character that encouraged me to be brave, I'm a scaredy cat and when I saw Mario jump around not giving a shit about the dangers was really inspiring to me. I owe him a big thanks for inspiring me to fight my fear of heights.
