I met Capt. Kuss during his time on the "Team" and after he passed I recalled our meeting very fondly! He was by all accounts an excellent and exemplary role model for the young men whom Serve our country! RIP, Semper Fi and thank you for your Service , Jeff !!

As I relocate from Texas to my new home state of Virginia, I visited two Blue Angel memorials while driving through Tennessee. My first stop was the CAPT Jeff Kuss Memorial in Smyrna. The grounds are immaculate, and the inscriptions around the F/A-18 provide a perfect tribute to CAPT Kuss. Next, I traveled 90 miles east on Interstate 40 to Crossville, where I stopped at Cumberland County High School. On display is a newly painted A-4 Skyhawk with former Blue Angels pilot Curt Watson's name on the canopy rails. Watson, a graduate of the school, proposed painting the A-4 in the famous blue and gold colors back in 1985.

I'm 48 yrs old. I've been watching the Angels fly for over 4 decades. I was 5 at the first show I saw. My coolest memory was when I was. I believe I was 10. Maybe a couple of years older, they were flying at HAAF that weekend . During the week, I guess they were practicing. Where we lived was about 2 to 3 miles as the crow flys to the base. It was no big deal to hear aircraft fly over as they took off or landed but it was usually C-130s or a mix of different helicopters but on this day I heard the roar of a jet engine so being a lover of aviation I took off outside to see if I could see what it was. Please understand that at this point in my life I could tell you what aircraft was about to fly over by the sound. Anyway I saw it was the blue and yellow of the Blue Angles I stood outside and waited for a minute to see if it was gonna fly back over. When I realized it was just a flyover I climbed onto our roof to get a better view. At some point while they we practicing the one of them made a bank around our house and since the cockpit was facing my direction I jumped up and started waving my whole are to this day I believe the pilot saw me because when he was directly infront of me he left put 3 puffs of smoke. I have never missed a show in our area since if I can help it. Keep doing what yall do.

Was at Durango Silverton Railroad museum (Durango CO) last week and they have CAPT Jeff Kuss's Blue Angels fight suit on display. His memorial looks beautiful. Respect for all the lost service men. Thanks for sharing.
