I wouldn't say he's out of character in the kisses scenes. He does like you, he does think that you're his treasure, but it's more like you're most precious diamond in his crown. And he wears this crown proudly, with all his vanity.

I honestly have no problem with the kisses. I simply have a problem with tavs face. In the scene where he turns you, if you read his mind, he thinks you staying with him is constant humiliation, but says that perhaps you like that. I think the kisses are acceptable for what he has become, and the only thing that makes it a little iffy is that they animated tavs face to show fear, even though this was your choice. I think tav would be into it and not afraid, which is where the change needs to be. If it’s consensual between both parties, humiliation does not mean he doesn’t love and treasure you, since his dialogue suggests he does.

I really wish they would implement a feature where you could choose your characters expressions. Tav doesn't speak for role playing purposes, but then have facial expressions which doesn't match the feelings of the player. Let them choose if they want to feel oppressed by AA or aroused.

While playing the game, spawn Astarion is my preferred choice because he’s such a soft boi. 😭 However, ascended Astarion brings his character to a new level of sass, attitude, and vibe! UGH I love the dichotomy of his character, truly. Neil did a wonderful job. People are allowed opinions but like bro if u don’t like this side of his character, keep it to yourself! This channel isn’t created from one of the writers! If u don’t like art at a museum, guess what, you walk AWAY. It’s not difficult, I’d imagine

Thanks for this new video in which it is further demonstrated how the new kisses with AAstarion and especially the TAV's face, go against what has been the narrative of AAstarion's character up until now. I'm also reminded of the phrase he says at the party: "I may have the power, but it would be nothing without you. You complete me." Think this but are kisses like this? Not to mention all the dialogue options where the TAV can agree with AAstarion and support him in his plans, but here in the kisses not, he suddenly seems to have forgotten that he accepted consciously to be with AAstarion.

I actually ended up with AAstarion on my play through with my brother and boyfriend (even though I wasn't going to 😂) my character is not persuasive at all.
Ironically it's the character that is most based on my vampire character 😅
Even after the ritual he doesn't come across as evil at all arrogant and cocky yea but not evil.
Even when he is talking about it he isn't aggressive or forceful and asks what you want from him.
He gives you the choose to turn or not.
Yes he is evil proven that with how he speaks about everything or everyone else but has literally shown no hostility towards Tav/Durge it's always us.
Heck you can even tell him your not killing your friends when he is speaking about his plans and he doesn't argue with it.
Honestly I'm loving them both he is so well written as both Spawn and AAstarion (I actually love the little nod to Dracula they threw in when talking about his powers) that it's annoying seeing what they gave us in terms of the looks on Tavs face.
I wouldn't mind if we got to play along as someone who does RP a vampire I know how passessive and passionate they can be with there mates (I really love the lip bite but not the actions)
Again I just honestly think it's Welches ideas taking over when it comes down to it and I would honestly love to see his original writer have a say in it rather than the

You can see some subtle signs where he does want to be gentle with you but theres a sense of fear of him getting too close.

You edited this perfectly, great points! I wish that we could yet that passion butt grab kiss still. Also i know this has been mentioned before about your choices and such. Like if you pick let it be rough when he's turning you was a suggestion. But there's another opportunity they could use to determine this. Right after you ascend him and you have his conversation about how everything is going to obey him. There is a choice where you can say, wow you're scaring and I'm not afraid and wow lets embrace this. Anyways, just got me thinking about it. :)

This is not how our characters feel about him. And even tho i used to like the kisses animations at the beginning (not out expressions) as time passed i realise that some little things do feel OOC like the little slap on the face, and you can say im wrong but the kneeling scene after ascension just loat his value if we will see it randomly and even at piblic places! In the original scene it felt meaningful, like pledging and oath, like trusting him, now is just a common stuff and the expressions make it worse.

I went back to a clip of the Karlach kiss i took pre-patch 6 that was repurposed for AA.
She has a bratty almost sexy look on her face. Makes the whole thing feel more playful. I don't know who decided to change it to traumatized basking in a sea of horrors type expression.
It do b weird as hell.
Especially when you're full evil urge out here rocking with power word: kill in the chamber.

Like I hate the Tavs face has such fear but wouldn’t Durge like this? My Durge is over here all scared around Astarion in these scenes and in the next second she’s this big scary slayer. I think Larian needs to fix some things 😅

I assume various things about what Astarion wants. There are hints of that. There's no disclosure. First minus.
How could Larian even assume my characters are "not into this" with Astarion. Tav's face. Second minus.
Some people really aren't "into it", the man refuses to let Tav leave him. Doesn't deny anything else. Mizora, incubus, Halsin, drinking together drow are all here, in the same game. Some Tav's need gentle kisses. At release time, it was on the night of the turn. Gently rough. But through suddenly Larian lost any sensitivity to this topic in patch 6 on February 14 "love flies in the air". Third minus.
Dialogue after the ritual where options can be abbreviated as: I wanna power, F me, School, F u.
Fourth minus.
Astarion - represents essentially enticement and temptation into evil, the dark side. It requires balance.
Lord Astarion is Astarion himself, his personality affected by only one thing: Astarion does what he wants because he finally can.
When this story still has a lot of interesting themes to think about not as b\w cheap pulp.
But will this be the case in patch 9 seeing the trend?
