When i was 12 my shoelace got sucked into one of those steps and nearly broke my foot! It sucked me down and i only got released once it burned through the laces. I thought id never get free. It was a scary experience for sure & still to this day everytime i see an escalator i think of that day 30yrs ago! ๐ค

My husband fell backwards on one in London, falling into me. We both went flying backwards head over heels, shoes flying off, bags tumbling. It was quite a sight. He was hurt a little. When staff finally got the escalator stopped, we gathered ourselves, went on our merry way as I laughed hysterically for about an hour.
