After some testing, Diesel works FANTASTIC! This is great because you can find it everywhere. No matter what fuel you burn, always have adequate air circulation. NEVER run a heater like this in a sealed room!

Yes u can use diesel. I've also heard u can use pure vegetable oil or olive oil. I've never tried it though.

Put a pint of 91% isopropal alcohol per five gallons of diesel. Lowers the smoke and smell quite a bit, and supposedly keeps your wick clean. I dont know why kerosene is so damn high

You can also source jet fuel instead of off the shelf kerosene.

4:1 ratio diesel to gasoline. Been doing it forever and is a lot cheaper.

I wouldn’t want to breathe in diesel. I am going the propane route myself. You can do 20, 30, 40, 100lb tanks, I have a couple refill stations nearby, and dozens of exchange locations. A 100lb tank is about 55hrs of run time at 60k btus

Diesel works great when it’s burning hot. It smokes at below 500 degrees

Its not getting phased out for epa units. There isnt much demand for normal kerosene and its expensive

Most kerosene is used to make jet fuel. Jet fuel is just high octane kerosene. Warships, all gas turbine engine planes and helicopters use jet fuel. Abrams tanks use it too

80 years ago planes used gasoline and boats used bunker or diesel and tanks used gasoline.

Oh and basically nobody has a kerosene furnace for their heat and hot water furnace anymore
Thats what changed.
