*Smoked Masala Chaas*

*Ingredients:*
Curd: 1 cup
Mint leaves: 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves: 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
Ginger: 1 tsp, finely chopped
Green chili: 1/2, finely chopped
Black salt: 1 tsp
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Black pepper powder: 1/2 tsp
Ice cubes: as needed

*For Smoking:*
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
Green chili: 1/2
Oil or ghee: 1 tsp
Coal: a small piece

*Method:*

1. In a blender, combine curd, cumin seeds, green chili, ginger, salt, black pepper powder, black salt, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Blend until smooth.

2. Transfer the mixture to a bowl.

3. To smoke the chaas, heat a piece of coal on a gas burner until it is red hot.

4. In a small, heatproof bowl, add cumin seeds, green chili, and oil or ghee.

5. Place this bowl on the hot coal. The oil or ghee will cause the coal to release smoke.

6. Immediately cover the bowl with a lid or foil to trap the smoke inside. Allow it to infuse for about 5 minutes.

7. Remove the lid and discard the coal and the bowl.

8. Stir the smoked chaas, then add ice cubes to chill.

9. Garnish with a sprinkle of cumin powder and fresh mint leaves.

10. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing smoked masala chaas!
