Ah yes, the old “let’s dismiss all of the Bible’s verses on works, to justify our complacency.”
James plainly teaches on this.
It’s true we shouldn’t boast of our works. I don’t know anyone that does. But, use some common sense, “many draw near me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” This is to say it’s easy to profess faith, as many do. But if the heart, or actions don’t match, it was in vain.
So yeah, there’s that.

There was a Mormon lady I saw often bc of my job.. she was Mormon.. and I tried to tell her about Jesus bc they don’t understand the gospel they believe their works is what saves them... that’s the opposite of the Gospel ... she and her family is very involved she actually listened to me and I gave her a video to watch it moved her enough to show her family.. but they talked her out of questioning her faith..I find a lot of people look at us as trying to just win or be right.. I promise real Christians just want u to understand Salvation... that’s all bc it’s the only thing in the world that really matters bc if u understand and believe in the gospel.. then no matter what no matter what you are going through no matter how much u are suffering u know in the end everything will work out for your good...also becoming a Christian absolutely doesn’t mean a life of only sunshine and rainbows... it’s lonely at times bc u don’t fit.. even though I struggle with sin daily like I said struggle..I don’t act like everything I do is a ok.. if I do something against God I feel really bad.. I struggle with addictions.. I have ocd Ptsd ( from years severe abuse )and adhd.. I don’t drink or do dope or take pills for any of it .. including pain pills for my injuries.. I’m a functioning addict.. I smoke weed every single day..I’ve been self medicating myself with marijuana for 27 years daily.. the pills r worse.. I tried them they change u.. not for the better either...just another addiction... I found peace in my heart and soul with Jesus but I would be lying if I said my flesh doesn’t find peace in marijuana... I try and stop...it’s hard it’s all I’ve known it’s what I do for everything wrong with me it’s my medicine but I’m a slave to it.. and u cannot serve 2 masters... though I serve Jesus with my heart soul and mind my flesh serves itself... so it’s important to understand the gospel bc we all deserve to go str8 to Hell for what we have done... our crimes against God.. none of us are good.. only God is good... so it’s important to understanding nothing we do gets us into Heaven.. it’s only what Jesus did for us on that cross... believe and trust in that alone not yourself... ..✝️❤️🙏

I pray that the president Russel m Nelson corrects the mistakes of the lds church I’ve corrected the mistakes of the church for myself I’m still Mormon but I don’t recognize the articles of faith nor the Book of Mormon nor the pearl of Great price

There's really no difference in doctrine here. If you use James definition of faith, works are the fruit of faith and belief. Faith in Christ is the avenue and grace is the gift. The issue is your modern use (or implications by tone) of the word "may". You're using the modern "may" synonymous with "maybe" or the modern use of might. In context, The Article of Faith's use of the word "may" means "can" or "shall". Likewise the older use of "might" means the same. The Article of Faith simply says that obedience is the fruit of our faith and that we are saved because of the Atonement of Christ. A true disciple is obedient. Christ himself obeyed The Laws and Ordinances of his own gospel. He was baptized wasn't he?

These are not contradictory. You do not understand the Atonement and how it works in people's lives. You are more intent on disproving than on seeking. You have no more faith than the Pharisees had.
