As a therapist, I love this. I absolutely encourage my clients to feel and sit with their feelings if thatโs what they need to do. We canโt move forward if weโre stuck on something. You take that time to seethe. Iโm right there with you trash talking them in my mind ๐

This is actually healthy. The โforgive and forgetโ thing is perpetuated by victims to retain the status quo and not hold someone accountable. You can let go of anger and resentment, but you donโt ever have to forgive someone whoโs wronged you and even less forget the hurt it caused. Itโs how we adapt and protect ourselves in the future.
As you can probably tell, Iโve had a lot of experience with this when I was bullied and abused as a child.
