Hi! I have an interview for a senior promotion in the coming week. One of the questions I am sure to be asked is “how would you handle resistance at work?”
Scenario: you are working on the project and have reached certain outcome. The senior manager whose duty it is to sign off on the project disagrees with the approach you have taken and the outcome that you have reached. The company policy states that the determination of the outcome of a project falls squarely within your role and responsibilities, however you still need the approval of the senior manager to complete the project. You believe that you have reached the correct outcome based on the company policy but the senior manager will not approve the project because he disagrees with the outcome. How would you handle this resistance with the senior manager?
Can you provide some insights on the best way to respond to this question please and how to respond in a circumstance where the resistance comes from a junior colleague.

My interview for the Senior Project Manager position in the Defence Infrastructure Organisation's Construction Innovation team under the Ministry of Defence is scheduled for next week. I hold an MSc in Construction Management and Economics, and I'm academically qualified with a CSCS card for managers. I also have 2-3 years of experience working as a civil engineer outside the UK.
I have no idea how to impress the interviews and the interview is online video call.
Can you suggest me something please
