It is to note that a narcissistic person disregards his/her own true needs as well. Creating therefore a need for fulfillment form the outside. This is the reason for the superficiallity and lack of emotional debth and points towards their actions to replace the unsatisfied emotion with something visible. The narcissist has learned a false truth that emotions are not real and only the visible can be true.
This contradiction leads to a disregulating disturbance in which the true feelings and the beliefe system of the nacissist creatie emotional tention and can cause him/ her to look for a displacement relief in which something about another person bothers the narcissist and he/she has to act against it. Interessting to note is that this perceived act of the other person is often in that persons view similar to the imperfection the afflicted sees on him/her self. To use empathy into a disturbed mind does not mean to give in to what he/she wants, it is much more a tool to make out the person weighed down by their self deceptive belief systems and set boundaries were they are needed. It is a mistake to think of them as evil, it is an illness and needs treatment.
