Oh yes, the callouses will just turn into thick skin before too long :) You're going great! If you're not already I would suggest practicing alternate picking (alternating between down picking and up picking) it can change the tone noticeably. You're already incorporating slides, and hammer-ons/pull-offs which are also great ways of changing the tone and can sound a lot more legato than picking every note
