Amen and at one point God gave David 300 mighty men and I think even 30, so for him to switch up and feel the need for 1,000s was him doubting God.

I literally just finished 2 Samuel a few days ago and this one stomped me. I’m on the hunt for a good commentary Bible to help me study. Glad I wasn’t the only one trying to figure out the sin.

I have studybibles and the internet and go search for the aswers but sometimes I still don't understand... and then I pray and pray for it... so yeah I hear you girl. Thank you for sharing. I have a Bible plan reading the entire book that follows the BibleProject. They do these excellent animated videos that break down the Bible book by book. Let me tell you as someone who is doing a 365 day Bible plan for the first time, they ADD SO MUCH CONTEXT! Without it I would be confused as heck ngl. That and looking at different translations helps A LOT. Different translations usually give context to certain verses or stories that others don’t. Especially when certain events take place due to them being out of order. Ever since I was a child my parents also taught me to pray that God illuminates my mind before I begin to read. It makes it easier for sure.
