What's more amazing to me, the fact that he went to the water's edge knowingly stalked by an apex predator or the fact that he lived in the Australian Outback without a damn WEAPON holy smokes Charlie. RIP ya crazy bastard

If you,ve got a crocodile stalking you here or in America , you don't go near the edge of the water , AT ALL .

Knows a massive croc is stalking him. I know he says, i'll grab a beer and go fishing down by the water's edge. Didn't really think that one through did he? Hell of a way to go.

Gators and Crocs study your habits so the one thing you must do is break habits. Never same time, same place or same way.

Remember kids ; crocs are fearsome creatures, NOT AN ANIMAL YOU CAN CASUALLY HAVE BEER ON.

Sitting by a river with one of the most deadly, shrewd killers is suicide. These creatures have millions of years evolution in their DNA, that Croc would've known when, where and how to take Charlie. Every weakness. Very sad.

Reminds me of a book I read years ago where the author said the alligator watched him with thoughts of murder.

Reminds me of a story about a woman who lived on a house on the water in the American South. She had a gator living underneath her house, stalking her. One day when she went to boat to town for supplies it attacked and she lost a leg. Living in nature is not living in the city, it’s kill or be killed at times. Prepare accordingly and euthanize a croc or alligator hunting you.

People familiar with crocs know that if you develop a habit, near water........they will wait, and wait and then take you down in a perfect ambush.

He sure did pick a beautiful spot though. I guess he was fishing for food since he was so remote. RIP Charlie.

Rest in peace dude. It wasn’t very bright to do that, but hey, you died doing what you loved. And the croc loved you too. 😢

he probably went down and fished all the time because that is how he fed his self. and he probably thought that he would notice it if it tried to get close to him but these products are very intelligent when it comes to stalking their prey and it is incredible to see how quick they are or how far they can leap out of the water straight up or straight to those close to the water. especially when you're by yourself and getting up there in age you have a tendency to underestimate your own let alone a fearsome predator.

Croc overheard his phone call. "That's it. I gotta take 'em out"

Always cool to see a story set in Australia! (Although stories like this do tend to give some people from other countries the impression that our whole country is like this lol)

Crocs are patient predators able to predict behaviors by first stalking their prey and learning their patterns. If he wanted to shake it he ought to have had at least a few fishing spots. He could've also hunted the croc since that's some good and good amount of meat in and of itself. Trap it in a net or something.
