Accurate. ✨
Canon: Great all-rounder. Cute, stylised soulful image. Great AF. Great if you want to get the shot, but don't want to post process.
Sony: Pro-grade, peak tech powerhouse all-rounder. Unfettered unflattering pragmatic realism. Worryingly good Terminator AF. Perfect if you want to get the shot, and love to post process.
Nikon: Beefy pro photo camera. Natural neutral image. Good enough AF. Nice if you enjoy neck pain and want to get the shot, but don't want to post process it.
Fujifilm: Fun EDC photo camera. Cute heavily stylised image that can get gimmicky and fall apart quickly. AF needs improvement. Great if you don't mind missing the shot and don't want to post process it.
Leica: Tactile tinkerer's camera. Lightly stylised image. Zero AF. Great if you enjoy the process of missing the shot and don't want to post process it.
I haven't owned any other brands to comment, but this is my experience so far. 😂

Whenever I think of the Sony Alphas, I think about how their first couple of DSLRs had weird ergonomics because their shutter buttons were placed slightly further back than where your index finger would naturally rest. So you kinda had to pull your index finger toward the back of the camera a bit in order to take a photo.
And I often think about what a dumb and uncomfortable design that was, similar to Sony’s DualShock controllers for PlayStation, which placed the left thumbstick in a spot where your left thumb does not naturally rest, so that you constantly kinda had to reach for it even though the left thumbstick was the part of the controller you used the most, so you’d think it would have been placed somewhere better.
Now, don’t get me wrong: I don’t want to be thinking about any of this. It’s just that it pops into my head from time to time and frustrates me to no end. I am a slave to these unwanted thoughts, and wonder who at Sony believed that these ergonomic choices (including the general shape and feel of the PlayStation controllers up until the DualShock 4) were the right choices to make. I want to sit these people down and ask them what they were thinking. And I want to tell them that they were wrong. Very, very, wrong.
Sincerely,
Me
