This technique maximizes muscle tension and stimulates muscle fibers, especially the fast-twitch fibers involved in explosive movements.

Bouncing the bar off the chest can compromise form, increase injury risk, and reduce muscle engagement by relying on momentum instead of controlled muscular effort. That's why I recommend to focus on a controlled eccentric phase and an explosive concentric phase during the bench press.
