It’s been a process… From house-hacking to creating unique Hotel experiences.

And I still don’t feel like a success, that’s a slippery slope. It’s more to illustrate the point.

Overnight success is for the movies. Success in real life talks real work.

Starting with residential properties and now excelling in the Boutique Hotel niche, the journey has been about growth, strategy, relationships, and taking the right risks (action).

This has been possible by having faith in the bigger picture and taking the daily action required to get there… with time. What I want for my life and for my family keeps me motivated. The small wins from consistent action give enough positive reinforcement to keep me going. It’s persistence toppled on work.

Something from my college football days sticks with me. In our locker room, we had a sign hanging called “Pounding the Rock” which was very applicable in the setting. The premise is, that there’s a man who had to take a boulder and turn it into small pebbles to complete his job and all he has is a sledg hammer. So he starts beating away at the rock. He swings and he swings without seemingly any progress. But the repeated force is creating small fissures inside. He keeps swinging and swinging. Eventually, that big boulder cracks into a thousand pieces. It wasn’t his last strike that did it. It was a thousand strikes before that stacked up.

So I remind myself to keep swinging.
