We walked 100KM to get to one of the Highest Permanent Settlements in Nepal - Dho Tarap in Lower Dolpo 4080m. This is a truly unique and moving place where life is incredibly tough for the local Tibetan people. They follow Bon religion, which predates Tibetan Buddhism. Rain is scarce - the main source comes from snow melting on the surrounding Himalayas. The land is ploughed by yak and there are several monasteries, chortens (like stupa) with paintings of deities on their walls and ceilings.
It's a truly unforgettable place to experience.
