Could you explain the difference between a glass and brass (in sound) slide to me? I have a glass slide made out of the neck of an old wine bottle (wire doused in gasoline, wrap around neck, burn it and it will melt right off), and I'm looking for reason to buy a brass one.

The brass slide gives a brighter more powerful sound. The glass slide is softer and more gentle. I have both and sort of use them to embellish what I am playing. If I am going to bang hard, which is mostly what I do, i use the brass. If I am going to play softly, the glass. A brass slide costs $6.95 where I live and is worth it. Thanks for asking.
