This doesn't hold up. Using your same logic here, remember that Gawain is King Arthur's nephew. No matter whether you want to call The Black Knight or Sonic the true "King Arthur", neither of them is Knuckles' uncle. The characters in Black Knight are incredibly loose in their inspirations. Like... Percival is a guy, Merlina doesn't exist and Nimue is the adoptive mother of Lancelot. You're reading way too much into it. I doubt anyone in the story team for Black Knight even bothered to do that much research.
