Playing Red Dead 1 and Undead Nightmare on Xbox Series X/ One X is so nice.
Theyāre Xbox One X Enhanced, which means higher textures, 4K or close to 4K resolution.
This also applies to some games in the Backwards Compatibility program, so games like Manhunt, Max Payne 1 & 2. Thereās also FPS boost for some games like Battlefield 1, which was originally a 60fps games, be able to output up to 120fps.
Itās not a paid upgrade either, just buy the original disc or a digital copy, and it recognizes the game. A minor con is that the list isnāt as expansive as you think it is, so options are limited if youāre trying to find a physical copy.

My boyfriend loves RDR. About 1.5 years ago he convinced me to get into RDR2. (PlayStation) I fell in love and about 6 months ago he convinced me to go on my Xbox and play the first one. I didn't get far because the controls felt unresponsive and janky. Especially the horse. I enjoyed the amount of story I did get to but it wasn't enough for me to get over how it felt. I was excited by all the rumors of RDR getting remade. Cause I'd be able to play the first game!
Then we got this. In the UK it was advertised as Ā£70 (A full-price game over here) but cause of all the backlash it was quickly reduced to Ā£40. I feel like this port should have been Ā£20 max, so told my boyfriend not to buy it. He's too much of a RDR lover to listen to that advice.
So because our accounts are linked I started playing it the day after he brought it. And yes the controls are much better. I feel like the game is playable now. But that doesn't make it worth Ā£40.
Graphics. The only difference I've noticed is the sun is more realistic with it's brightness and the game not being as dark meaning I can see what I'm doing better. And yeah, it supports 4k. But 4k on 13-year-old graphics does NOTHING! Almost nothing. I feel like there are SLIGHTY more details on the faces of the characters. The sides of the cliffs still have no texture. No details on the Cactuses or any of the world just like the original 2010 graphics. And they were good. For 2010. It's now 2023.
The first few hours of playing I was just angry at how little effort was put in. I mean they already updated the graphics for New Austin with RDR2 in 2018. That's half the map. I would have happily waited another year for them to put the effort into redoing Mexico and giving us a real remake.
The story is still amazing. LOVED IT. So I got over my anger and just played, but this is not worth Ā£40. It is very frustrating and I'm just disappointed with Rockstar. After RDR2 my expectations of them were so high.

If this was $20-$25, this would be a good buy for previous-gen players. For $50? Rockstar can shove that rifle where the sun don't shine.
